Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou (founder of easyJet and easyGroup) joined our shareholder and advisory base!

We've had a very exciting quarter and thrilled to share that ​Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou (founder of easyJet and easyGroup) joined our shareholder and advisory base last week through his private investment vehicle easy Group.

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou is best known for creating easyJet in 1995 when he was just 28 years old. This pan-European low-cost airline, headquartered in London, has revolutionised European air travel over the last two decades and it is now flying over 75 million passengers per year across 31 countries with a fleet of more than 260 aircraft. In 2000 Stelios floated easyJet on the London Stock Exchange in order to fund growth but he and his family have always remained the largest shareholders with a circa 33% stake.

Rentuu is a venture capital-backed technology business powering event equipment hire covering furniture to audio/visual to infrastructure and tool hire for large scale events internationally and domestically. Our single point of contact event equipment hire procurement platform centralises and coordinates vetted suppliers for event organisers saving time, hassle, and costs for both suppliers and event organisers. 

Rentuu with the support of easyGroup will continue its expansion across the equipment hire market in Europe. Holding offices already in London, Milan and Amsterdam, Rentuu will launch two new services branded easyEventHire and easyToolHire to allow millions of Europeans to find access to an easier and simpler process to hire equipment for events and more.   

Stelios will personally join Rentuu’s advisory board alongside other influential figures such as​ Fabio Cannavale​. Fabio is the CEO and owner of​ lastminute.com, a leader in the price-comparison market that offers travel and leisure services to over 10 million people with a case of wanderlust.
